Over 50 delegates from Uganda Marketers Society attended the 4th edition of the joint African Marketing Confederation (AMC) and Technology Information Confederation Africa (TICON Africa) conferences, held in Accra, Ghana in August 2025. The event was officially opened by Ghana’s Deputy Minister of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Hon. Mohammed Adam Sukparu, who underscored the urgent need for every professional—regardless of their function—to develop fluency in the dynamic areas of marketing and technology-led transformation.
This year’s conference was held under the theme “Thriving in Africa’s Evolving Markets: Trust, Trends & Technology.” It focused on practical insights, real-world challenges, and emerging developments shaping the future of marketing across the continent.
AMC, a Pan-African marketing body, continues to expand its global reach through strategic collaborations. A key highlight this year was the launch of the World Marketing Council, co-founded with the European Marketing Confederation and the Asia Marketing Federation. Together, these three bodies represent marketing organisations in over 40 countries worldwide.
Mr. Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey, representing the Ghana Tourism Authority, expressed pride in Ghana hosting the joint gathering, stating “Ghana is an experience, not just a destination.”
The conference concluded with the announcement of the 2025 African Marketing Confederation (AMC) Awards during a glittering gala dinner with Uganda Waragi and Stanbic Bank for winning brand of the year (Gold) and best cause related campaign of the year (Bronze( respectively) making Uganda proud. This year’s award winners were selected by an independent judging panel from more than 60 entries received from 16 member countries across Africa.
