African Marketing Confederation Conference 2024 Officially Launched

The African Marketing Confederation Conference 2024, a significant event in the marketing and ICT industry, will take place in the vibrant coastal city of Mombasa from 25th to 27th September. The conference was officially inaugurated in Nairobi on 16th May, with the esteemed presence of Kenya’s Presidential Advisor on ICT and Digital Economy, Dennis Itumbi, as the chief guest.

The Marketing Society of Kenya (MSK) will host the conference on behalf of the AMC alongside the ICT Association of Kenya (ICTAK) on behalf of TICON AFRICA, the umbrella body for African ICT professional associations. This year’s event will be held at the breathtaking Sarova WhiteSands Beach Resort in the vibrant city of Mombasa, Kenya. Brand resilience is more vital than ever globally in these turbulent times. Hence, this year’s conference theme is BRAND RESILIENCE AMIDST ECONOMIC UNCERTAINTY.

The event was graced by the virtual presence of the AMC President, Helen McIntee, who joined from South Africa. Helen unveiled the highly anticipated keynote speaker for the conference, Dr. Hermawan Kartajaya, a luminary in the marketing world who is the founder of the Asia Marketing Federation (AMF) and co-founder of the World Marketing Forum.

The AMC Secretary-General, David Balikuddembe, Chartered Marketer, thanked MSK for agreeing to host the conference in 2024 because he’s aware of the efforts and dedication necessary, drawing from his personal experience, having organised the 2023 edition of the same conference while serving as President of the Uganda Marketers Society. He highlighted the recent milestone of a signed MOU between AMC and AMF, a testament to the industry’s united front. This platform will provide invaluable insights into consumer behaviors in Asian markets, paving the way for ICT and marketing to collaborate and facilitate Afro-Asia trade. David also reiterated that ICT and marketing are pledging to collaborate at the highest level on the continent, which serves as a forum for the two professional bodies to have a say in macro matters, especially policy and regulation.
